Come è nato Bonnie Baby
Ispirata dalle sue radici vicino i paesaggi selvaggi delle Highlands scozzesi e fortemente influenzata dai lanifici che una volta erano prolifici lì, era forse inevitabile che Tracey Samuel avrebbe avuto una storia d’amore per tutta la vita con la maglieria.
Con una laurea alla Glasgow School of Art ed un master al St Martin’s College of Art & Design, Tracey Samuel lavora nei primi anni ’90 a fianco di Stella McCartney, Alexander McQueen, Giles Deacon, Antonio Beradi e Phoebe Philo. Ha lavorato anche per Coats Viyella, il più grande produttore di maglieria nel Regno Unito, lavorando direttamente con filatori italiani sullo sviluppo di nuovi filati, per creare le macchine e su modelli computerizzati, ha presto guadagnato una reputazione come designer di maglieria, ispirato e con buona tecnica.
Nel 1995 le viene offerto il compito di rilanciare la linea Sonia by Sonia Rykiel e quindi si trasferisce a Parigi, dove rimane per nove anni, ricevendo influssi francesi, femminili, una maggiore sensibilità nel design e affinità per i filati di lusso.
Nel 2004 si sposa e si trasferisce a Brighton e, ispirata dall’arrivo della figlia, Alice Bee, nel 2005 Tracey decide di lanciare la propria linea di maglieria per bambini.
Inspired by its roots in the wild landscapes of the Scottish Highlands and strongly influenced by the woolen mills that were once prolific there, it was perhaps inevitable that Tracey Samuel would have had a love story for a lifetime with knitwear .
With a degree at Glasgow School of Art and a master’s degree at St Martin ‘s College of Art & Design , Tracey Samuel worked in the early ’90s alongside Stella McCartney, Alexander McQueen , Giles Deacon , Antonio Beradi and Phoebe Philo. He also worked for Coats Viyella , the largest knitwear manufacturer in the UK, working directly with Italian spinners on the development of new yarns to create the machines and computer models, he soon gained a reputation as a designer of knitwea, inspired and with good technique.
In 1995 she was offered the task of relaunching Sonia by Sonia Rykiel and then moved to Paris, where she remained for nine years, receiving French influences , feminine, a greater sensitivity in design and affinity for luxury yarns .
In 2004 he married and moved to Brighton and, inspired by the arrival of his daughter, Alice Bee, Tracey decided in 2005 to launch his own line of knitwear for children.

Tracey ha deciso di realizzare capi di alta qualità MA lavabili in lavatrice, grazie a uno speciale mix di cachemire e cotone: la linea si chiama “Cuddle Me” (coccolami) ed offre un’ampia scelta di maglioncini, cardigan, tutine, cappellini, sciarpe, guanti da 0 a 24 mesi realizzati in morbido cachemire che può essere lavato a trenta gradi nella lavatrice di casa grazie a una speciale combinazione di materiali (55% cachemire e 45% cotone).
La linea da 2 a 5 anni è bellissima, colorata, allegra, ma comunque delicata e di ottimo cotone bio: adatta a chi non è più un bebè ma ha ancora bisogno di morbidezza e delicatezza!
La maglieria griffata Bonnie Baby ha vinto il titolo di “Gift of the year 2008“, ambito riconoscimento assegnato da 29 anni in Gran Bretagna alle idee regalo più belle e originali. Il brand è molto apprezzato, tra gli altri, da Gwyneth Paltrow, che lo usa per i suoi bimbi, dalla Spice Girl Emma Bunton e anche dalla famiglia reale di Danimarca.
Tracey decided to create high quality garments machine washable , thanks to a special blend of cashmere and cotton : the line is called ” Cuddle Me” and offers a wide selection of sweaters , cardigans , suits , caps, scarves, gloves from 0 to 24 months made of soft cashmere that can be washed at thirty degrees in the washing machine at home thanks to a special combination of materials (55% cashmere and 45 % cotton).
The line from 2 to 5 years is beautiful , colorful, cheerful , but still very delicate and with organic cotton!

Approfittando dei saldi su LatteMama (qui il nostro post), abbiamo preso dei cardigan in cotone ed una gonna per Sissi.
Eccoli qua! Li ho già lavati in lavatrice a 30°C e sono perfetti! L’unica cosa è che ho preso tutte taglie 18-24 mesi (Sissi ne ha 21) e forse sono un po’ precise… Invece per la gonna ho preso la taglia 12-18 mesi perchè personalmente mi piace che la gonnina non sia lunghissima e giusta in vita ed infatti è semplicemente perfetta!
Taking advantage of the sales of LatteMama ( our post here ) , we bought some cotton cardigans and a skirt for Sissi .
Here they are! I’ve already washed them in the washing machine at 30 °C and they are perfect ! I took all sizes 18-24 months (Sissi is 21) and they are perhaps a bit tight… Instead I bought the skirt in size 12-18 months because I personally like it not very long and it is just perfect !
